Country Playlist #5

January has shown us some really awesome CDs making me really excited to hear all the new stuff that has been announced too!

For the last few weeks, I have had two albums on repeat constantly. The lucky winners? “Dark Horse” by Devin Dawson and “Hallelujah Nights” by LANCO.

Devin Dawson – “Dark Horse”

I am going to let you in on a little fun fact that I realized about Devin Dawson. If you are a huge Taylor Swift fan like myself, you may have heard of this mashup from a few years ago. Well lucky for us, Dawson is back with his own music and he is killing it! His debut album is going to be a huge hit, and if I were you, I would check out songs such as “War Paint,” and “Asking For a Friend” along with the two hits already, “All On Me” and “Dark Horse.”

LANCO – “Hallelujah Nights”

You probably are already singing “Greatest Love Story” over and over again… and now you can sing this entire album too! LANCO has been on my list since I saw them open for Jake Owen at Starland Ballroom back in April 2017. Songs like “Pick You Up,” “Trouble Maker,” and “Born to Love You” are some of my favorites, although the whole album is magical. Catch them this summer on tour with Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborn… two other amazing artists!

Some other cool songs that have emerged over the last few weeks that are worth checking out:

Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton – “Say Something”

If this does not make you excited for what Timberlake has in store for his new album… I am sorry.

Luke Combs – “One Number Away”

So this might not be a new song, and I know I have preached about how much I love Luke Combs, but this new music video is totally unexpected and still great.

Walker McGuire – “Lost”

Another group that has been on my radar since I saw them last summer. Do yourself a favor and check out their entire EP. You will probably love it.

Dierks Bentley – “Woman, Amen”

Dierks Bentley recently announced a new CD and a new tour. This gives me a strong feeling that it is going to be a huge hit and a great party.

So that is my January summed up in a playlist! What have you been listening to?

Can You Duet?

I have a confession. I am OBSESSED with country music. Totally not a surprise, right? Well, lately there have been quite a lot of good duets that have been released, and are completely worth having on repeat. Here are the five that I am loving right now.

1.”Different for Girls” – Dierks Bentley + Elle King

I have been singing this song since “Black” was released, and I can not even begin to explain how excited I was when I heard that this was going to be the first single. Elle King has the perfect voice for this song, and when she can not attend, Bentley has a really good backup. If you do not know what I am talking about, click here. You will love it.

2. “Setting the World on Fire” – Kenny Chesney + P!nk

I do not think I have ever been disappointed by a Kenny Chesney song… ever. This one is just as good as any of his others. Besides, who does not love P!nk?

3. “Without a Fight” – Brad Paisley + Demi Lovato

Brad Paisley is a powerhouse on his own, but when you add a queen of pop music, it is INSANE. Lovato and Paisley compliment each other really well in this song, and I love seeing the different crossovers between pop and country happening lately.

4. “Think of You” – Chris Young + Cassadee Pope

I will just start this one off by saying if you do not like Chris Young, you are wrong. Put him with Cassadee Pope? Magic.

5. “The Fighter” – Keith Urban + Carrie Underwood

Okay who does not love Carrie Underwood? Exactly. Keith Urban is fresh off the American Idol train and is full force with his Ripcord Tour with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris. Feel free to listen to this song a few times, it is catchy. Also check out what happens when Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman decide to do a Carpool Karaoke.
